Retired from the rat-race!
Three months ago I retired from the rat-race. The daily grind. The commute to work. Ha, not quite… I worked as a part-time waitress , three days a week and walked four blocks to work. So, not quite the rat-race or the daily grind. I was never the sole bread-winner for our family. I was lucky to be able to stay at home with our children for almost twenty years.
Now our children are grown and have been out of the house for ten years (the oldest) and four years (the youngest). During that time , Lee and I talked about MANY different variations of what our future might look like. What we kept coming back to, was buying an Airstream, a big ol’ pick-up truck, and traveling the country. Going places we’ve never been. Seeing things we’ve never seen. Meeting people along the way. Freedom to explore. We have had a vision of this life and lifestyle for several years now.
We are all in and now we are TOTALLY out!
It has been A LOT of planning, cipherin’ , worry, excitement, …But we jumped in! Once we decided, we were ALL in.
So I sit here today, thankful for our past. Grateful for our present. And excited and hopeful for our future!
